Anywhere you look in Preble County; there is a high quality of life which is provided by our great schools, affordable housing, healthcare, utilities, and one of the
lowest rates of taxation in the entire state of Ohio.  However, it's is our location and scenery that sets us apart!

There is no shortage of healthcare services in the Preble County region.  There are more than 21 area major hospitals and healthcare providers within a 20 minute drive.  Preble County area residents enjoy the convenient location of the Preble County Health Center  part of the Grandview Medical Center, a HealthGrades America's 50 Best Hospital, located in center of the County. 

Preble County offers excellent educational opportunities, safe communities, and neighborhoods.  Preble County's public school expenditures per student are $9,052, the student to teacher ratio is 18.2, and the graduation rate 90.4%.

The cost of living in Preble County is more than 19% lower than the national average ranking 81.4 compared to the national average of 100 and the cost of home ownership in the Preble County Region is one of the lowest of any major metropolitan suburban area in the country for all income levels. 

The median existing home selling price for Preble County is $104,900 — more than 34% below the national median home selling price while the Dayton area is $78,000 (51% BNA) and the Cincinnati area is $112,800 (29% BNA).   Preble County is second highest in Ohio on percentage of housing units with 3 bedrooms, which means spacious affordable homes for young families or those who work from home.

Preble County residents are proud of their agricultural blend and seek a wider market for the farm community.  There are 1,065 farms in Preble County and more than 615 farmers that list farming as their primary occupation while 450 list farming as their secondary occupation.  Preble County is leading agricultural producer of soybeans, corn for grain, and hogs.  Agriculture is Ohio's number one industry contributing more than $98 billion to the states economy, and Preble County contributes more than 60,306 acres of corn, 85,633 acres of soybeans, and 173,802 hogs to that number.  Preble County Farmers generate more than $109 million in cash receipts each year.

Preble County is home of the Preble County Fair, Preble County Pork Festival, one of the largest in the entire country, and many community festivals such as Lewisburg Derby Days, Camden Black Walnut Festival, and the Fairhaven Antique Show. Preble County communities, festivals, landscape, scenery is second to none and incomparable in the region.

Preble County life affords a wide range of amenities right here at home, such as Heaven's Corner Zoo & Animal Sanctuary, Hueston Woods State Park, Fort Saint Clair State Park, Covered Bridges, Allen and Adeline Garber Nature Center many historical sites, and its charming vintage towns and villages. Just to the South of Preble County and in less than a one hour drive is the amenities of the Cincinnati USA regions world renowned Cincinnati Pops, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Art Museum, Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame, The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, Newport Aquarium, Newport on the Levee, Cincinnati Zoo, Kings Island.

Just East of Preble County and in less than a 30 minute drive are the amenities of the Dayton regions Dayton Art Institute, National Aviation Hall of Fame, Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, Dayton Dragons, Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park,

With Wayne County Indiana just to our west and also within a 30 minute drive, your family or employees can visit the African-American Historical Society Museum, Ball State University Museum,  and Indiana's Famous Antique Alley.

COVERED BRIDGE
COUNTRY

Preble County is home to the only remaining double-barreled cover bridge in Ohio. Known as the Roberts Covered Bridge, the structure has stood since 1829.

Over the years a total of 29 covered bridges were built in Preble County. Today, seven covered bridges remain in the county.
