On Saturday, October 22, 2011, the Preble County Commissioners will be hosting the inaugural Commissioners’ Charity Ball at the Hueston Woods State Park Lodge. This will be a Black Tie Fundraising Event with dinner and dance with music provided by “The CrossRoads Band” and “Music by Marta”.

The mission of this gala event is to raise awareness of the needs of the Preble County community and to solicit donations to support selected charities. The needs of our community are broad in number and broad in scope, however, to make a positive impact it only takes a single mission; a mission takes vision. As a stakeholder in the Preble County community we would like to invite local businesses, friends and colleagues to join us in an effort to turn this vision into reality. Through your participation as a sponsor, attendee or both, you are providing the needed financial support to help make a difference in the lives of many Preble County residents. The Preble County Development Partnership will be assisting with the preparations for this Charity Ball. The Board of County Commissioners has selected (4) community organizations that will receive proceeds through this year’s gala event:

Triangle Therapy Services, LLC:
A therapy clinic that provides traditional occupational therapy and speech therapy services to children in a non-traditional setting. It is their belief that the world of nature (animals and the outdoors) can provide a powerful setting in which to achieve traditional clinical goals.

Robots R Us
Is comprised of Eaton High School students who combine math, science, and engineering skills to compete against other robotics teams across the nation. The team, guided by adult sponsors, is committed to excellence in the friendly competition.

YES Fund
The Youth Equipment Supply Fund is driven to provide our 4-H and FFA youth with the necessary supplies to have a safe Jr. Fair career at the Preble County Fairgrounds. Many of the newer pens that house the animals have all been purchased with YES funds.

A.S.K. Playground
The Advocating for Special Kids Playground Committee, in conjunction with the Preble County Board of Developmental Disabilities & L & M Products is in the process of building a totally handicapped accessible playground. The goal is to provide every child and adult with a developmental disability to play, learn and exercise at a professionally designed playground built just for them.
